Une chanson de Noël (correction)

Voici la traduction des paroles (Here's a translation of the lyrics)

Noël, joyeux Noël !
Christmas, merry Christmas!
Bons baisers de Fort-de-France

Kisses from Fort-de-France (La Martinique's main city)
Ce soir on éteint la télé

Tonight, we turn off the TV
Ce soir ensemble on va chanter

Tonight, together we will sing
Ici les champs recouverts de neige,
Here, the fields covered in snow
On ne les connaît qu'en photo
We only know them in photo
Santa Claus doesn't have a sleigh
The air is much too warm
Ici les portes sont toujours ouvertes
Here, the doors are always open
On peut entrer dans toutes les maisons
You can enter all the houses
Et pour partager nos chansons
And to share our songs
On n'a pas besoin d'invitation
Ine doesn't need an invitation
Noël, joyeux Noël....
Il n'y a pas de sapins sur la montagne
There is no Xmas trees on the mountain
On a décoré les manguiers
We decorated the mango trees
There are no shoes in the fireplace
But for everyone, there are presents
Ici les champs recouverts de neige,
Here, the fields covered in snow
On ne les connaît qu'en photo
We only know them in photo
Santa Claus doesn't have a sleigh
But for everyone, there are presents

The morning follow and resemble one another
Quand l'amour fait place au quotidien
When love gives way to daily life
We were not made to live together
It's not always enough to like each other
C'est drôle, hier, on s'ennuyait
It's funny, yesterday, we were bored
Et c'est à peine si l'on trouvait
Hardly, we found
Words to talk about the bad weather
Et maintenant qu'il FAUT partir
And now that we must go
On a cent mille choses à dire
We have one hundred thousand things to say
That we care too much about for so little time
We loved each other the same way we are leaving each other:
Tout simplement sans PENSER à demain
Simply, without thinking about tomorrow
Tomorrow, which always comes too fast
About the farewells which sometimes go a little too well
We do what's necessary, we play our parts/roles
On se regarde, on RIT, on crâne un peu
We look at each other, we laugh, we show off/pretend
On a toujours oublié quelque chose
We keep forgetting something
It is not easy to say goodbye
Et l'on sait trop bien que TÔT ou tard
And we know too well that sooner or later
Demain peut-être ou même ce soir
Maybe tomorrow or even tonight
On va se dire que tout n'est pas perdu
We're going to say that all is not lost
Of this unfinished novel, we will make a fairy tale
Mais on a passé l'âge, on n'y croirait plus
But we're too old now, we would not believe it
On s'est aimés...
We loved each other...
Roméo, Juliette et tous les autres,
Romeo, Juliette and all the others
Deep inside your books, sleep in peace
Une simple histoire comme la nôtre
A simple story like ours
Est de CELLES qu'on écrira jamais
Is among those that will never be written
Allons, petite, il faut partir,
Come on, little one, we must go
Laisser ici nos souvenirs
Leave our memories here
On va descendre ensemble, si tu veux
We will go down together, if you want
Et quand elle va nous VOIR passer
And when she sees us go by
La patronne du café
The café owner
Va encore NOUS dire "Salut les amoureux".
Will tell us, once more: "Hello, love birds!"
On s'est aimés...
We loved each other...

*Au fond de = At the bottom of

You know, I have never been as happy as (I was) that morning
We were walking along the beach a bit like this one
It was autumn, an autumn where (=when) the weather was nice
A season that only exists in the North of America
Là-bas on l'appelle l'été indien
There, it's called Indian Summer
Mais c'était tout simplement le nôtre
But it was simply ours
With your long dress you resembled a watercolor by Marie Laurencin
Et je me souviens, je me souviens très bien
And I remember, I remember very well
de ce que je t'ai dit ce matin-là
What I told you that morning
Il y a un an, il y a un siècle, il y a une éternité
A year, a century, an eternity ago
On ira où tu voudras, quand tu voudras
We will go, wherever you want to, whenever you want to
Et l'on s'aimera encore, lorsque l'amour sera mort
And we will still love each other, when love is dead
And all of life will be like this morning
Aux couleurs de l'été indien
In the colors of the Indian Summer
Today I'm far away from this autumn morning
Mais c'est comme si j'y étais
But it's as if I was there
Je pense à toi
I'm thinking of you
Où est tu ?
Where are you?
Que fais-tu ?
What are you doing?
Est-ce que j'existe encore pour toi ?
Do I still exist for you?
I'm watching this wave that will never reach the dune
You see, like her/it, I am going back(wards)
Comme elle, je me couche sur le sable et je me souviens
like her/it,I lay down on the sand and I remember
I remember the high tides, the sun,
and the happiness that was passing on the sea
Il y a une éternité, un siècle, il y a un an
An eternity, a century, a year ago
On ira où tu voudras, quand tu voudras
We will go, wherever you want to, whenever you want to
Et l'on s'aimera encore, lorsque l'amour sera mort
And we will still love each other, when love is dead
And all of life will be like this morning
Aux couleurs de l'été indien
In the colors of the Indian Summer

Wonder Woman change de costume (correction)

How to use this?
-MAJUSCULES (CAPS) = missing words
-en gras (bold) = noteworthy vocab or expressions
-italiques = traduction

--> NB: don't miss the grammar point at the end of the text = the passive.

Au milieu de (in the midst of) tous ces événements qui changent la face de la Terre, je vous propose un article d'une légèreté déconcertante (disconcerting lightness). Il traite de (deals with, talks about) la polémique soulevée par (brought up by) le costume de la nouvelle Wonder Woman.

Le costume original,
porté par (worn by) Lynda Carter

Actif: the subject of the sentence does the action
Passif: the subject of the sentence has something done to it (it does not do the action, it is passive).
--> exemple: l'enfant adopte le chat (actif)
le chat est adopté par l'enfant (passif) --> the cat (subject of the sentence) doesn't do the action, the action is done to the cat =the cat is adopted by the child.
in the past: Gustave Eiffel a construit la Tour Eiffel (actif)
--> la Tour Eiffel a été construite par Gustave Eiffel (passif) = the ET was built by GE.
in the future: le texte sera lu par l'auteure
the text will be read by the author
passif  = être* + participe passé
*As shown in the examples, "être" can be conjugated at any tense.

Exemples dans le texte:
le costume est critiqué par Fox News = is criticized by FN
le costume sera porté par = will be worn by
le costume a été dévoilé = was unveiled
la chaîne est connue pour = is known for
WW a été refaite = WW was redone/remade/redesigned
la tenue a été purgée de... = the outfit was "purged of"...
